Our business lawyers provide a wide range of consulting and transaction services to businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals. Our goal is to develop and maintain long-standing and loyal relationships with our clients. We achieve this goal by focusing on consistent, responsive service; providing practical, results-oriented advice; and staffing each project efficiently yet with enough resources to match our client's desired pace.

A large part of our business practice focuses on transactional matters, with the result that each of our business lawyers becomes adept at closing "deals" — whether acquisitions, reorganizations, joint ventures, licensing deals, or corporate financings. In addition, while we stress the need for our business lawyers to build a foundation as a "business generalist," over time each of our business lawyers develops additional expertise in specific areas, including corporate governance, commercial finance, intellectual property, real estate, and securities.

Our business group regularly represents large, sophisticated clients on complex deals. Many of the matters on which we work involve clients from countries such as Argentina, Japan, Korea, Norway, and Russia. We are also fortunate to serve as outside general counsel for many large and small companies, providing day-to-day advice to owners and executives on matters ranging from routine corporate governance issues to complex business transactions.
