Mundt MacGregor was founded in 1977 by five attorneys, two having business law backgrounds, two with litigation backgrounds, and one who had worked with the federal government.

Even though none of Mundt MacGregor's original partners grew up in Seattle or had close family or other ties to the area, the firm quickly became an active and successful member of the regional community. By 1980, Mundt MacGregor had a strong and growing commercial litigation practice and significant clients in the fisheries and maritime areas, in commercial real estate, and in representation of international clients with business interests in the Pacific Northwest. The firm retains substantial strengths in all of these areas to this day.
